Astellas developed Cardiac Radionuclide Imaging App for Physicians

Astellas has revealed the launch of the Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) for the interesting Cardiac Radionuclide Imaging application. Mainly developed for physicians, the app offers access to published criteria used to examine the requirement for a patient to have cardiac radionuclide imaging (RNI). The AUC for RNI highlights 67 individual patient indications, eight indication categories and five algorithms. The app guides physicians through the criteria to assess patient history, clinical factors and other essential data to receive a quick and precise use score for RNI. As soon as the physicians enter the information, they will receive a rating on a scale of 1-9 suggesting if the patient indication is appropriate (7-9), uncertain (4-6) or inappropriate (1-3) for RNI. Further, these ratings can be viewed by indication/category or patient algorithm. The app will be available for free download on the iPhone, BlackBerry and Android platforms.
